I just peep’d MIA’s new video “Born Free” and its very powerful. It’s riddled with socio-political sentiments – however, is it too violent?
I always commend artists for their bravery, but did she go too far to make a point? Or is this simply creative Genius?
Let me know what you think.
This video epitomizes America’s dilemma and ignorance when it comes to their immigration policy. As an immigrant with a natural born citizenship (born in the U.S. Virgin Islands,) this deeply offends me. A Puerto Rican American being deported to Mexico??
Don’t you ever underestimate the sheer brilliance of the Internets Celebrities! (And yes they did spell internets with an “s”)
My boy Dallas Penn and Rafi Kam do it again… This time they bring us the short documentary Stadium Status is a – which examines the rush of new sports stadiums in NYC as the latest example of an obscene national trend. New stadiums are built every year and the private businesses that own them benefit from huge sums of public money for their creation. Are we getting our money’s worth?
Simply, the answer is no. The public see’s no profit from it (financially.) Check out the video for more…

Alright, I’ve got to admit, I love this woman! Beautiful and immensely talented, her previous EP Album Metropolis Suite I of IV: The Chase was a classic in my eyes. Now, Janelle Monae drops her latest single “Tight Rope,” which she expands on her creative genius and events a new dance. Hopefully it gets the shine it deserves. Check it out!
Peep this video on the Afropunk Movement featuring The CDT Art Collective the brothers from Game Rebellion, Daoud moshing, and Rasu giving the opening interview and moshing with gas mask on. Stay tuned they do it all over again this summer 2010.
Enjoy!
Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a big fan of Kid Cudi’s music. However, I am feeling his latest video. It seems he put together a short documentary of his stage performances and behind the scenes while on tour, and transformed it a music video. It really displays the magic of simplicity.
Kudos.

Peace comrades,
I stumbled on this footage of Nas and Damian Marley at SXSW. Fitting, because I recall mentioning to a friend, who wasn’t familiar with Damian Marley, as the Reggae version of Nas. I love their collaborations. Peep the vid.
Peace.
Peace,
Its funny how life works at times. The day of the CDT Artshow back in November, the guy that was supposed to video capture the event for us, pulled some funny business and didn’t show up. As annoyed as I was, I just brushed it off and continued to host the exhibit without a hitch. Regarless, We had pictures gallore, but no footage…. Until now! Thanks to Lichiban!
Lichiban is one of the artist featured in the artshow, and took the initiative to do a walk-through of the exhibit. See the “Live To Change Something Through Art” Exhibit through Lichi’s eyes.
Enjoy!
